Sanctuary Foundation's Mission
Sanctuary Foundation is a nonprofit travel organization dedicated to providing rest, renewal, and restoration to those who serve others. Our purpose is to offer free vacations and retreat experiences to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families — those who give tirelessly of themselves in service, leadership, and sacrifice.
Rooted in faith and guided by compassion, we have created a space where those whose lives are in service of others can instead be served. Our retreats often include optional Christian-based services and activities for worship, but all are welcome, regardless of belief.
Our unique model allows participants to enjoy their experience at no cost, with the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation at the end of their trip if they feel moved to support our mission. These donations help us extend the same opportunity to others.

OUR STORY
Sanctuary Foundation was created out of firsthand experience — founded by veterans and active-duty military members who understood the need for deep soul-care, and spiritual grounding. Recognizing others' years of service, deployments, and the daily stresses of leadership and sacrifice, they realized there were few places designed to help those who serve find true peace and purpose outside the uniform.
What started as a simple surf and golf getaway — offering this retreat and meaningful getaways — quickly became a mission. They envisioned a nonprofit where others who serve their country and communities could step away from the pressures of life and reconnect with what matters most.
Our founders knew that rest isn’t certain — it’s a luxury. But what if it could be? And with that, they believed that those who give so much of themselves shouldn’t also have to carry the financial burden of finding that rest.
